Traditionally, the academic community gathers on the anniversary of 17 November to commemorate the events of 1939 and 1989. The Day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy and the International Day of Studenthood in the Czech Republic, and in the world as the International Day of Studenthood, is an opportunity to remember and appreciate the significant persons and actions of our faculty. As usual, the “SIGNUM PROSPERITATIS” medals were awarded to recognize the students of our faculty and the gold, silver and bronze “SIGNUM EXCELLENTIAE” medals were awarded to the important personalities.

Our institute has been blessed this year. A total of three medals were distributed among the persons associated with the institute:

Bc. Zdeněk Chylík was awarded the SIGNUM PROSPERITATIS medal for his excellent academic results and for his exemplary bachelor thesis.

Ing. Petr Svoboda, Ph.D. was awarded for excellent cooperation with the Institute of Geotechnics, especially in activities for students such as excursions, lectures and thesis.

Prof. RNDr. Lukáš Krmíček, Ph.D. was awarded for his outstanding achievements in publishing scientific articles, research in the field of geological sciences, teaching and popularization activities.

The last two were awarded the silver medal “SIGNUM EXCELLENTIAE”.

Apart from our institute, other students and prominent personalities of the faculty and those closely cooperating with the faculty were also awarded. We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to all the awardees.
