Welcome to the website of the Institute of Geotechnics, Faculty of Civil Engineering BUT in Brno.
Our institute provides teaching in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral study programs, including supervision of bachelor’s, master’s and dissertation theses.
We also provide, in the laboratories of the faculty and research center AdMaS, a wide range of laboratory tests of soils and rocks. We offer support for technical practice in mathematical modeling. In this area, members of the institute have long-term experience in solving a wide range of geotechnical tasks (e.g. deformation and stability analysis of earth dams or deep construction pits).
